  • Threads by Meta has taken over the world since Mark Zuckerberg announced its launch. Made by Instagram’s team, the new social media app is text-based that allows users worldwide to interact with the latest happenings. While the launch of the Threads app has been quite controversial, Meta claims it to be unique on its own. If you are wondering how can you install and use the application, then you are at the right place. In today’s blog, we will give you a quick intro to how to set up an account on it and build a large following. For now, it seems like Threads can be a game-changer as it will allow you to communicate with friends, family, and coworkers from anywhere in the world by the power of text.

    Exclusive Features of Threads

Before we get into the details of how to set up the account, here are some of the key features which make Threads an ideal choice for you:
Text-based: Threads is the text-based version of Instagram. You can write up to 500 characters and share the latest happenings with your friends and family.

Personalize Avatars: Tired of your mediocre profile picture? Don’t worry as with Threads you can build your own personalized avatar. The feature allows you to customize the shape of your face, body, hair, and a lot more to make your profile look attractive.

Virtual spaces: Threads by Instagram ensures your privacy is protected, that is the reason why it allows you to build a private virtual space for yourself. Whether it’s a room or a building, you can easily create any of these and have secured conversations with your loved ones.

Sell your products virtually: Things just got easier for e-commerce store owners. You can actually sell your products on Threads. The user-friendly marketplace is open to buy and sell, whether it’s clothing, accessories, or electronics.

    How to use Instagram's Threads?

Now that you are aware of the exclusive features of the new social app, let’s learn how can you create a profile on Threads. Believe it or not, it’s super easy. Once you have downloaded the app, you are required to log in from your Instagram account. After logging in, it will ask you to enter your bio and set your profile picture. Further, it will ask you if you want to follow the same accounts that you are already following on Instagram. When you confirm that, the app leads you to your home page. And just like that you are all set to use the entertaining app. As we said earlier, setting up the account is an easier task. However, if you find the app boring and want to delete it, then that’s slightly a different story.

    How to delete Threads?

After signing in and browsing the app, if you find it unamusing, you might want to delete the app. Here comes the weird part, you cannot delete Threads without deleting your Instagram account! Crazy right? Absolutely. But what can we say? Mark is a genius and we love it! However, many users objected to such an arrangement. But clearly, due to this, we don’t see people deleting Threads anytime soon. Even if it’s a copy of another social media app. Or not!

    Twitter Vs Threads

You must be living under a rock if you don’t know about Elon Musk Vs Mark Zuckerberg tiff that has been going on for more than a month now. In a series of tweets, Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight. The challenge came in after Mark mocked Elon by saying that Twitter was not run “ sanely”. With such a statement, Elon openly challenged the Meta executive to a cage fight. While the cold war was still going on, Mark, went ahead and launched Threads, which the Space X CEO believes to be the exact copy of Twitter. But we did some research and found out some of the key differences between these apps. Here they are:

    · Threads allow up to 500 characters, while Twitter allows 280
    · You can post up to 5 minutes of video on Threads while on Twitter the limit is 2.20 mins
    · You can hide your likes on Threads, and Twitter doesn’t

Nonetheless, there are more similarities compared to differences between the popular apps.

    Elon reacts to Threads

The launch of Threads doesn’t go well with Elon Musk. After Threads was officially unveiled, Elon stated right away that it was a clear copy of Twitter, which is owned by him. Now when the latest app has earned more than 40 million downloads, Elon has threatened the Facebook founder to file a lawsuit. Apart from the copy claim, Elon wants to sue Mark, because allegedly, Meta executive has used ex-Twitter employees in order to create Threads. Will this turn in Elon’s favor or not, that can only time can tell. For now, all we can say is that with every passing minute, Threads is growing strongly.

    The Ugly Truth

“Threads by Meta is revolutionizing the way we communicate in the digital age”; we wish we could say that! But in reality, it doesn’t offer something unique or exclusive, that makes us stay on the app for hours. Sure, it has achieved millions of users in one day, but we believe it isn’t because the app has the capability to grow but because of the hype created by its parent company. We still need to see, where Mark Zuckerberg takes it from here. Maybe he will also introduce premium paid accounts such as Twitter . Anyways, for now, we just have another addition to our social media family. How it will benefit us and the business in 2023, that is still a mystery.
